About Ivy Pool

“I’ve always believed in the power of government to deliver services to improve the lives of all citizens.  I never expected to run for political office but, like a lot of women, I feel personally motivated by recent political events. I feel a strong responsibility to step up and do my part improve the services in our hometown, and to drive open, inclusive, and transparent governance in New Castle.”

With a lifelong passion for public service, Ivy Pool knows how to create innovative and effective government programs.  Ivy is a small business owner and management consultant, currently advising non-profits and government agencies on improving outcomes for underserved populations. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

Previously, Ivy served in the administration of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, as the Program Director for the New York State Integrated Eligibility System, a $500M program to modernize and streamline access to health and human service programs. Ivy also served during all three terms of NYC Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s administration.

Ivy earned a Master’s in Public Administration from NYU. Her undergraduate degree is from Columbia University.

Ivy has lived in the Town of New Castle since 2010. She and her husband have two children who attend Douglas Grafflin Elementary School. Since 2012 Ivy has served as the Vice President and Treasurer of the Greeley Hills Neighborhood Association.  Ivy is a Girl Scout leader and is involved in the Grafflin PTA and the Chappaqua STEM Committee.
